Our library is a lending library and
books may be borrowed from one monthly meeting to the next meeting and
renewed within reason by any Georgina Member. Encyclopedia excepted. To
obtain a library card, and borrow a book, simply ask any member of the
Library Committee and they will be pleased to assist you
W. Bro. Percy Taylor in updating the library and completely cataloging all the books in the 125th Anniversary Year gave a verbal report that is noteworthy. He quoted R. W. Bro. W, M, Gordon to wit; “Whatever may be the dominant personal reason that impels your reading, you will discover that good reading gives knowledge, creative power, satisfaction, as well as relaxation. ...We suggest to you that you do not read a book for the books sake, but for your own.” Number of Books are 117 and duplicates of 56. Donations are gratefully received of any Masonic Book or book written by a Mason. GRAND LODGE There are some 1700 titles available from this resource center. They are willing to assist you in your education. Written requests with name, address, telephone number, lodge name and number and membership card number are required on a request and may be sent to: Librarian; Grand Lodge A. F. & A.M. of Canada 363 King Street West, Hamilton Ontario, L8P 1B4. The costs of shipping is carried by Grand Lodge, however members agree to insure and pay the costs of shipping when returning the borrowed material to Grand Lodge. For a full list of available titles a listing is kept in the Georgina Library and you may see any member of the Library Committee for access to this information. It is well worth the effort. It is worthy of note that there is a memorial section of the library for Masonic Students. It contains the rare John Ross Robertson’s collection of early Masonic History in Ontario. The library also houses rare regalia and pictures of International Masonry including prints of Rosslyn Chapel and the Initiation of Robbie Burns, the famous Scottish bard.
